LIRAPROCULT COMPANY

Created in 2008 by multi-artist and producer Socorro Lira, the Liraprocult company is based in São Paulo – SP, Brazil, and operates in the music, literature and film sectors. The production company is especially dedicated to the artistic and cultural projects of its founder and director, Socorro Lira.

SOCORRO LIRA – DIRECTOR

Multi-artist Socorro Lira was awarded in 2012 and nominated in 2016 and 2017 for the Brazilian Music Award, the country’s main music award.

In 2024, Socorro Lira wrote, directed and produced the short film Vênus Visitou São Paulo. Lira made her film debut producing and directing the documentary Aqui Tem Coco – Um dia em Caiana dos Crioulos and the short film Zefa. She produced and acted in the award-winning short film Tô Esperando Você Voltar, by Marina Lavarini. She composed soundtracks for films such as O Ramo, by Breno César, Uma Visita a Elizabeth Teixeira, by Susanna Lira, among others.

Socorro Lira has free training in film scripts and audiovisual production. He studied cinema and direction at the International Cinema Academy (AIC), in São Paulo and Mise-en-scène at the International School of Cinema and TV (EICTV), in Santo Antonio de Los Baños, Cuba.

Her work has been a platform for several projects that claim space for the expression of women’s voices, such as the CD Cantos à Beira-mar (2019) where she gives voice to the poetry of the first Brazilian novelist, Maria Firmina dos Reis; on the album Noturno, about poems by the São Paulo writer Ruth Guimarães (2022) and, on her most recent album, Dá-me as Rosas – the poetry of Carolina Maria de jesus in the music of Socorro Lira (2024).

In literature, his most recent release is the novel Talks On My Invisible Passions (2020).

As a producer, she created several projects in the area of art and culture, such as Espaço Mata Branca in her hometown, Brejo do Cruz, Paraíba, and the Grão de Música Award.

In 2023, the multi-artist celebrated more than two decades of career in music, with the album DHARMA, which features a repertoire composed of partnerships and with special participation from Ana Costa, Chico César, Jorge Ribbas, Ná Ozzetti, Ricardo Vignini, Swami Jr. and Zélia Duncan.
